The Black Death was a plague that spread through Europe and Asia during the 14th century. It was one of the most devastating pandemics in human history. During the plague it was called "the great mortality" or "the pestilence," it's now known as the Black Death or Black Plague.
It's believed to have started in 1328 and lasted until 1351, though some outbreaks still occurred during the next century.
The plague killed millions of people, anyone who interacted with the sick or decease became ill and most likely died. This caused people to abandon one another, husbands and wives, bothers and sisters, sons and daughters. The plague put everyone into a panic, it didn't matter how rich or poor you were, no one knew the cause and no one had a cure.
